Holiday Gift Baskets: 5 Awesome Ideas

All five of these awesome gift baskets have something in common. Obviously it is the inclusion of a bottle of fine wine. Thus this instantly makes the Gift Basket extra special. Of course, as they enjoy the contents of the Gift Basket, that bottle of wine will remind them of you. For this purpose, we only recommend True Fine Wines. Clearly the cheap wines, or the punch wines, do not convey the message we wish to convey. Holiday Gift Baskets: 5 Awesome Ideas! For those of us that know what is in Cheap Wines, it says “You are not worth the best”. Hence that’s why we go with a True Fine Wine. To accomplish this, we use wines from our Wine of the Month Membership. DETAILS CAN BE FOUND HERE.

Moreover, these are wines at an incredible price and value, and are likely to be wines they can’t find locally. For this purpose, for years, we have been gifting these incredible Fine Wines, and everyone is super impressed. In addition, this will ensure that your Gift Baskets are received and enjoyed to the fullest extent possible. You will be remembered for your efforts as a result.t

Getting ready for the YEAR of Giving:

Furthermore, it’s not just the holidays that call for gift baskets. They are a perfect way to say, “You are extra special to us, and we want to express how we feel about you”. Especially, they make the best pick-me-ups, get-wells, or congratulations. New Baby? Getting married? Anniversary (especially those that are crucial). Celebrations of promotions, retirements, or achievements. Milestones and victories are what make life worth living. Small and large. In celebrating them, it’s all about those who are a part of it. Spectating and cheering from a distance is still fun.

Keep an eye out for Gift Baskets throughout the year. Keep some in a closet for easy assembly. As part of this process, we make sure they hold at least a bottle of wine and two wine glasses. From there, size up. Here are 5 things to keep in mind:

Here are Holiday Gift Baskets: 5 Awesome Ideas

The #1 method is by far the easiest and in many cases the best. Here are the Simple Wine and Wine Glasses:

Baskets can be square, oval, or boxy. The Wine Bottle should be placed, along with the Glasses. Shredded paper should then be used to pad it.

Contains:

  • Here is a recommendation for a fine wine bottle
  • Two wine glasses (or four). In fact these are available for under $20 at TJ MAXX or for $1 each at the Dollar Store. For this purpose, disposable, easy-to-use glasses serve a purpose. In addition to being usable, they can also be discarded.
  • INCLUDE a NOTE: Suggest your gift of wine and glasses be used on a romantic picnic (the glasses are safe to use). Take it to the park, or enjoy it at the game, or while watching the game. Furthermore, wine makes even little league games more enjoyable.

IMPORTANT: Indeed, this need not be expensive! With this in mind, use basket, shredded paper, and wine glasses from the dollar store. Fine wine is the most expensive here, and it’s incredible when you get it. (CLICK ON THE IMAGE)

For example, it is always a good idea to secure baskets and their contents with cellophane. For instance, through that link, you can get cellophane bags for all sizes and needs (GET AMAZON LINK HERE). It’s on hand, and we stock up for Christmas, New Years, and an onslaught of birthdays in September (for us).

There’s nothing complicated about #2 of our Holiday Gift Baskets: 5 Awesome Ideas; it’s just a matter of adding more of a theme. Italian:

Contains:

  • A fine bottle of wine (recommended from here). This calls for a wine that will complement the sauce. If you are making a white sauce, choose Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, or even Pinot Noir. You cannot go wrong with Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot, or Syrah if you prefer red wine. With the Sauce, every “True” Fine Wine will pull out incredible flavors. Making it impossible to make a mistake.
  • The Pasta of Your Choice: You can serve Spaghetti Noodles, Fettucine Noodles, Bow-Tie Pasta, or any pasta of your choice.
  • It’s the Sauce: Next to the wine, the sauce is the best. Match the sauce to the pasta. Don’t forget to include enough pasta for the party you are gifting if it is for 2, 4, 6 or more people.

A NOTE: You can share a note if you’ve already enjoyed the exact wine and pasta combo, and how you thought they’d like it as well. Furthermore, the note can suggest a great night. Offer to host their kids for a few hours if they have children.

It’s still easy to make #3 of our Holiday Gift Baskets: 5 Awesome Ideas; just build on the wine. In any case, it is at the center of everything.

Contains:

  • You can choose from 2, or 4 bottles of fine wine (Depending on the size of your gift) (Recommended here). You will add meats and cheeses. We offer both white and red varietals, so our customers can choose from a variety of tastes. The tasting experience is also flexible. For the white, choose from Pinot Grigio, Rose’, or Sauvignon Blanc. The Rose’ wine is a “dream” wine from the Charcuterie category. It literally goes with most everything, and is a great way to get anyone started with charcuterie. Red Wines, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, or Granache are also great additions.
  • Charcuterie Board: Optional, but something to include in a Charcuterie Board gift basket to let them know it’s a fun experience. These can be found at TJ MAXX or many home goods stores. Everywhere online. Simple is great, or you can get it custom engraved to make it really special.

Contains:

  • Meats: Summer sausage, pepperoni, salami, and prosciutto. You can add one, two, three, or as many as you like. You can choose the size of this Gift Basket.
  • Cheeses: You want them to complement the meats. Spices and salts. A balance of Cheddar, Gouda, Asiago, Brie, and Blue cheeses. It doesn’t have to be a huge block. In your deli, you can get wedges perfect for two people that are perfect for sharing.
  • A bottle of Olives, Capers, or Pickled Vegetables: These are great ways to add “AWESOMENESS” to your Charcuterie Gift Basket.
  • Preserves, Fruit Compote, Honey (in jars or small containers): We find them at TJ MAXX, the Grocery Store, and sometimes by asking the Deli clerk for them. In addition to Wine, Cheese, and Meats, this is a great way to enhance flavor and experience. It’s something many people have never experienced before. There is so much fun to be had.
  • Crackers:You will need a water cracker or a plain cracker. It should not add spice or seasoning to the Wine and Cheese pairing. In a pinch, plain salted Ritz or Club Crackers work. While the Carter Brand Water Crackers are light, they are useful for putting cheese in your mouth to accompany wine.

A NOTE: There’s going to be a lot of fun in this. If you have shared anything with them before, let them know how you enjoyed it. Let them know to set this all up and to start with the whites, then the reds so they can enjoy the flavors and the build of them. You can explain how you picture them enjoying Charcuterie during the upcoming game, or relaxing on the patio on a Saturday or Sunday. This is heartwarming, and will touch them with the gift of caring.

The #4 of our Holiday Gift Baskets: 5 Awesome Ideas is still easy (you’re getting the gist); just adding a theme. Crackers and cheese:

It’s not a full Charcuterie, but it doesn’t have to be. The purpose of this is to enjoy a fine wine along with cheese and crackers. Then the suggestion of when and how to enjoy it.

Contains:

  • A bottle of fine wine (recommended here). This calls for a wine that will complement the cheese you have chosen. Match the Cheese with the Wine you selected for them. There are many wines that go well with cheddar. Sparkling wines go well with soft cheeses, such as brie. If you are in a bind, you can go with a Pinot Noir. There are several cheeses that go well with Cabernet Sauvignon.
  • Choice of Cheese: Cheese should be paired with wine. It can be a wedge or a block of specialty cheese. Perfect for pairing with a single bottle of wine. Feel free to try these out yourself to see what wines and cheeses you prefer. Then you can share your experience first-hand. Two cheeses, such as a Cheddar and an Asiago, are a great way to go.
  • Crackers: You will need a water cracker or a plain cracker. It should not add spice or seasoning to the Wine and Cheese pairing. In a pinch, plain salted Ritz or Club Crackers work. While the Carter Brand Water Crackers are light, they are useful for putting cheese in your mouth to accompany wine.

A NOTE should be added:

Explaining that the Wine and Cheese pairing was created for their enjoyment. Use it during a movie night or while cooking dinner together. If you know them well, you may suggest they enjoy this for their upcoming anniversary or the Sunday following. It shows them that you care and want to make their life special by suggesting a time and occasion for the gift. Even if it’s only for a special occasion. Written communication is powerful and something of a lost art. It is a gift in itself, so bring it back.
